#NSX #Concept logical construct that decides which hosts/VMs can see an NSX Network. [[NSX - Transport Node.md|Transport Nodes]]|[[NSX - Transport Node]] are connected to one or more Transport zones. VMs and other resources residing on those Nodes are then able to be attached to the [[NSX - Segments.md|Segments]]|[[NSX - Segments]] configured on the Transport Zone. There are generally 2 types of Transport Zones in NSX, Overlay and VLAN ## Overlay Transport Zone routing is done through NSX, no other external network infrastructure is required for the traffic itself. ## VLAN Transport Zone no routing through NSX, is done by the external network infrastructure.
